


Marita Swartz, BA, MA, RMTP
Marita holds a BA in Elementary Education from Georgian Court College, an MA in Religion and Religious Education from Fordham University and is certified as a Spiritual Director by Jubilee House Retreat Center. For most of her life, she has worked with children, adolescents, and adults, primarily in the Bristol Virginia ⁄ Tennessee area as an elementary school teacher, Minister of Religious Education, and Spiritual Director.
Marita was introduced to Usui Reiki in 2003 by Anita Brelage, OFM with whom she studied levels one and two. Her studies continued and she received her Level 3 ⁄ Master Level with Joe Ortola and Paula Sarut of Johnson City in 2004 and ART ⁄ Master with Beth Stapor from the International Center for Reiki Training in December of 2005. During 2006 and 2007, she studied additional Rainbow® Reiki techniques with Walter Lübeck and Beth Stapor and received her Karuna® Master training as well. In 2011 she received her Shoden and Okuden levels of training in Jikiden Reiki with Arjava Petter.
In 2005, Marita began a full-time Reiki and Spiritual Direction practice at Integrated Health Concepts in Bristol, Tennessee where she worked with a team of traditional medical and holistic practitioners to support wellness and healing for clients. In January 2008, she became a licensed teacher with The International Center for Reiki Training. Shortly thereafter Marita began her private Reiki practice, and her office is now located at 28 Midway St., where she is once again affiliated with Integrated Health Concepts.
Marita and her husband Karl live in Bristol, TN, with their personal zoo of two dogs, Roxie and Rigley, and their cat, Tabs. Marita enjoys spending time with family and friends, weaving and quilting, hiking the trails of this beautiful region, and traveling in the U.S. and Russia. Marita has two sisters, Michaele and Moria, who also share the love and practice of Reiki.
